The delta-wing drone design, perhaps most famously represented by the Iranian Shahed-136, is quickly evolving. Iranian and Russian militaries are continually upgrading the design. Russian company ZALA has unveiled its internal-combustion-engine-powered “Italmas” kamikaze drone shown in the first three photos. The new swept-wing UAV has a range of 200 kilometers. Russia reportedly has also put a GLONASS navigation module in an Iranian Shahed, and Russian sources have referred to the use of an optoelectronic station for real-time guidance. The photo shot on grassy turf is a Russian domestically produced example, and the last photo shows an Iranian jet-powered version of the Shahed. Watch a video, here, and learn more at Gagadget.com.
